I was approached by Polina Soliarova to create “living paintings” of pre existing ones. I was hostile to NFTs suspecting them to be a scam but when i was introduced to the paintings themselves i found the idea of making living pastiches compelling and rewarding. One interesting element was that after making 20 custom loops for each element of the painting I identified as having motion, I had to create a loop that would never skip or bump, the end result must have no start or finish but just continuous movement. The film needed to be several hours long to accommodate for this technical problem.
