Made in harmony with nature, Emily Stapleton Jefferis (the ceramicist and sculptor) collaborated with me on the building of a sculptural kiln made entirely from clay we processed ourselves. We built it as a way of justifying our artistic practices' impact on the land. It's a promise to be respectful custodians of the earth’s materials and a type of praxis, an intention to make work that reflects our belief that the human role in the natural world is to harmonise with it as we make it more beautiful.
